It is disheartening when you finally show up to an interview and are politely informed by the receptionist that the interviewer has been taken to the hospital for undisclosed reasons.

Wow - I'd shown up and had someone missing for car problems before, but that's a new level.
It could have been worse. They could have been rushed to the hospital during your interview.
Just think, now you have the rest of the day off to set up more interviews, or go shopping, bar hopping, or just be lazy and sleep.
Is it bad that my first thought was "Wow, their resume must have been really bad to cause a heart attack?" or my second thought was "Wow, I've never seen an interviewee attempt to kill the interviewer before." ha..ha..ha!
Maybe you should put in a resume for THIS person's job. You know, something along the lines of "I see you have a position that needs to be filled immediately and I'm here and ready to work." ;)
cinkitty.. knows where its at!
At least you're not the one in the hospital. That's far more disheartening than having your interview cancelled because the interviewer was in the ER.
No, what would have been disheartening is to have been told they no longer wanted to interview you.
sorry CB. That's crazy. But I hope you find out what happened to said interviewer.
figures...
Sorry. I wasn't feeling well!
I got a phonecall advising me that my interviewer was sick and hadn't come in. Could we reschedule when they came back? Grrrrr... was just as well, to be honest, as I was having a very bad hair day!
i'd say so...
Since the receptionist already saw you in Interview Outfit #1, does that mean you have to wear a different suit to the second interview?
at least you didn't have the interview before potential employer left for the hospital - then, if you were remembered at all, it likely wouldn't be in a positive light.
That would suck
